Police were yesterday still probing the Saturday night shooting of 20-year-old Shaquel Wilson in Albouystown, with some reports suggesting that he was the victim of an execution attempt.
Wilson, of James Street, Albouystown, was shot in the chest at the corners of Sussex and Bar Streets, Albouystown around 21:00 hrs on Saturday.
Wilson told Kaieteur News yesterday he could not recall what transpired since he fainted after being shot. “I don’t know what happened; I woke up in the hospital with a gunshot wound. That’s all I know,” Wilson said.
The 20-year-old who claims to be a gold miner said he was towing his neighbour’s nine-year-old son on a bike when someone shot him. He said that he didn’t get a glimpse of his shooter.
