DEAR EDITOR,
As the saying goes “Where there’s life, there’s hope”. It was heartening to note from a recent letter that there are still sensitive souls in our beloved country. When I read the recent letter titled “Appreciating the freedom of birds”, I thought how lovely to think beyond our narrow confines.
In support of this sense of freedom, I would like to remind readers of the following fine poem, meant to be one ‘in sympathy of….’, by the American poet, Paul Laurence Dunbar.
For what it is worth, within a few years’ time, there may well be a worldwide intense struggle for freedom of every kind, a need to speak on behalf of those who do not have a voice.
A brotherhood-of-man mindset. Geralda Dennison
