Ulric Caldera, one of the participants in the ongoing Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF)\Federation Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) five day Beach Volleyball Grassroots course told Kaieteur Sport that he is pleased with programme.
He said that it is very challenging and hoped that everyone can gain the necessary knowledge to teach the basics of the game in their community, clubs and schools. Caldera stated that the game will help to get the youngsters off the streets and calls on the Government for support.
“The Government can play an important part in the development of the game. We will be very happy if they can assist the clubs so that we can spread the knowledge. The participants are determined to develop the game and we are hoping that the game can be played at several tourist resorts,” added Caldera.
He informed that Instructor Mauro Hernandez is impressed with the talent of the locals.
