Dear Editor,
We the concerned residents of Station Street, Kitty would like to know when we would get peace in the community. We have made several reports to Kitty Police Station about noise nuisance coming from the rum shop, customers and vehicles, in the wee hours of the morning. This problem has been going on for too long now. We think it’s time this nonsense stops.
Whenever reports are made to the respective police district about this matter, some of the police patrols sometimes don’t come upon hearing that an Ex-Officer is the proprietor of one of the businesses. However the place attracts several vehicles with loud music sets; two of the regular vehicles are PPP 7061 and PMM 2886.
We think that when the police come and see these vehicles they need to take them in and not just warn them and leave.
The law clearly states that liquor restaurants should be open for seven and a quarter hours per day but these rum shops open from twelve noon till five o’clock next morning which occurs every day of the week. We all know these rum shops should have a time limit but not those through Station Street Kitty:
We are once again calling on the relevant authority to have measures in place so that this cruelty, harassment and wanton disrespect of people’s rights and disregard for people’s health be brought to an end. Residents of Station Street Kitty
