Kudos are in order
Dear Editor,
Please let me take this opportunity to congratulate your newspaper on a fine article – ‘A truly persevering force – the Guyana Lutheran Church celebrates 270 years’ featured in your Sunday May 5 edition.
The very illustrative piece evoked some childhood memories and also reminded me that the Lutheran church has contributed significantly to the history of the Christian community in Guyana. It is also mentioned in Edgar Mittleholzer’s book – ‘The Swarty Boy’.
The feature is recommended reading and I recall that in my childhood days, my father’s first car was actually purchased from the Lutheran Pastor in New Amsterdam.
Again, congratulations on a great article.
