Twenty-five year-old Keshaz Boodram died at the Suddie Public Hospital on Saturday, two weeks after being involved in an accident at Lima, Essequibo Coast.
Boodram never regained consciousness after sustaining severe injuries to his face and head.
According to reports, Boodram was travelling in a vehicle, PKK 169 along the Lima Public Road at around 03:00 hrs two Saturdays ago when the driver lost control and slammed into a culvert before crashing into a fence and a shed.
Both Boodram and the driver were said to have been under the influence.
The driver sustained a deep cut to his forehead. He was treated at the Suddie Public Hospital.
Over the previous two months, there have been several accidents on the Essequibo Coast. Some of these have been fatal.
Thirty-three-year-old Hassan Ally was slapped with three charges, including one of causing the death of Basmattie Prashad, who died after she fell from an overcrowded truck. She was among some 40 mourners who were being transported to a cremation site when the mishap occurred.
