both 100m and 200m races in the Under-20 category. The track championships was a part of the Take Back Your Child initiative, aimed at helping parents to take back their children from the negative influences of the society.
Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Chief of Staff, Commodore, Gary Best declared the championship open and told the students that sports is important to their development, since it helps them to be well-rounded individuals.
Best also commended the initiative that MLC and Sir Morgan has taken, stating that it should be hailed as a positive one. Best reportedly also reminded the students that the spirit of competition is good, but they should have fun while participating.
