Man sentenced to prison for robbery

28-year-old Orin Accra of West Ruimveldt was sentenced to one year in jail after he was found guilty of robbery.
Accra was yesterday convicted of robbery under arms when he faced Magistrate Leron Dailey. The man who was unemployed at the time he committed the crime in August last, robbed Wilma Sukdeo of a lipstick, a lady’s handbag, an umbrella and other items.
He was arrested and brought before the court.
According to the Prosecutor Denise Booker, on Thursday August 30 at Industrial Site, Ruimveldt, Accra armed himself with a knife and attacked the virtual complainant who was on her way to work at Industrial Site, Ruimveldt. He relieved her of her belongings and later admitted to the offence in his caution statement.
