Johanna Cecelia defeated Anna Regina Multilateral by 8 wickets to win the final of the Imam Bacchus and Sons Schools 40 over cricket competition which was contested last Saturday at Affiance on the Essequibo Coast.
Anna Regina batted first and found the bowling of Akieni Adams 4-27 and Lavish Surajpaul 3-8 difficult to handle and were bowled out for 104 in 31.4 overs.
Opener Devon George top scored with 26 (4×4), while extras contributed 35. Johanna Cecelia then made light work of the target winning the game in 13.3 overs ending on 105-2. Raj Parbattie hit six fours in a top score of 37 and was well supported Stephan Peters 33(5×4) and extra 22. Adams was later named man-of-the-match. Meanwhile, the presentation of prizes will be done at a later date.
