Kantasingh, Baugh shine on rainy day
Meanwhile, Carlton Baugh and Kavesh Kantasingh were the stars on opening day of the fifth round match in the Regional Four-Day Championship at Queen’s Park Oval.
Baugh slammed an unbeaten 101 as Jamaica reached 242 for 9 at the close. Kantasingh grabbed 6 wickets for 80 to restrict the Jamaicans and put them in a spot of bother earlier on at 84-6 at one stage. Danza Hyatt 53 and Nikita Miller 39 were the other Jamaican batsmen with useful contributions.
And the Leewards were dismissed for 121 off 48.5 overs in their first innings yesterday. Javier Liburd led with 50 and Hamilton made 21 as Kenroy Peters 5-43 and Nelon Pascal 3-45 combined to restrict the opposition. Up to press time the Windwards were struggling on 20 for 3 in reply to Leewards 121. Smith 4, Fletcher 5, Lesporis 8 all back in the pavilion. Gavin Tonge has picked up 3 for 16 so far.
