Pastor remanded for sex with 12-year-old
Two men, one a pastor, were remanded to prison by resident Magistrate Leron Daly on separate charges of Carnal Knowledge, yesterday.
The charges were indictable and both men were not required to plead.
According to a police report both men reportedly had sex with the minor, who was under 12, on separate dates.
In the case against pastor Errol Dainty, who is currently employed as a security guard at the Cotton Field branch of the Demerara Bank, and who performs the duties of a pastor at the Nazareth Church, at Henrietta Village, Essequibo Coast, it was alleged that at Queenstown Village, Essequibo Coast, on February 8, last, the pastor had sex with the child.
Again, between January and February, 2012, the other man, Natram Sooknandan, had sex with the teenager.
Both men were remanded until March 27.
