Police were last night hunting for two gunmen who escaped with an undisclosed sum of cash after robbing the Popeye’s fast food branch in Vlissengen Road, Kitty.
Kaieteur News understands that one of the bandits was armed with a shotgun.
The fast food franchise has been a regular target of robbers in recent years.
In February 2010, two bandits escaped with $1.1M after holding up a female supervisor at the same Vlissengen Road branch.
The robbers, who had handguns, also took an undisclosed sum of money from the cash register before escaping in a waiting car.
