-youth and junior athletes earn another opportunity for test run before CARIFTA trials
As a warm up for the youth and junior athletes who will be participating in the upcoming CARIFTA trials, which is slated for Sunday March 4th at the Police Sports Club ground, it will be of great benefit to use the Guyana Police Force fun day today as another gauge to measure their preparations. This follows their first appearance at the Athletic Association of Guyana (AAG) developmental meet last Sunday.
The fun day which has invitational track events from 100m to 800m will be the perfect opportunity for the youth and junior athletes and coaches as well to depict the remaining work load that will be required for the athletes to reach the qualifying timings which was set out by the technical committee of the AAG and coaches from various clubs last Wednesday evening.
The fun day will feature a game of circle tennis between Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Austin Felix Police College; 5-a-side limited overs softball cricket along with 5-a-side football and a dominoes competition will also be played.
Registration for teams starts at 9:00am and fun day commences at 10:00am.
