The Editor,
I agree fully with the Women Lawyers’ Association in its call for Henry Greene to go. I am disappointed that many organizations which need to speak out have kept quiet on the Top Cop matter, but have been very vocal on the Imam’s matter.
Is Greene special? He is retired but was retained on a month-to-month basis. Discontinuing that arrangement should pose no problem unless there is a “more in the pestle than in the mortar”.
Quite frankly, corruption within the Police Force reached its zenith under Greene. Rogue cops, bribery and sexual molestation currently abound in the Force, thanks to Greene’s leadership. So, why the seeming reluctance to have his head? Or have we reached that state of moral decay that propriety is now on trial?
I am sure that, having entertained Greene’s recent petition, the Honorable Chief Justice will be acutely aware that he may have opened a Pandora’s Box. Will every drug lord, violent criminal, etc, etc, now petition the courts to set aside the recommendations of the DPP?
I would like to feel that the concept of “the Greater good for the greater number” still has relevance, even in the Courts.
Editor, the frequency and spread of attacks on fishermen by pirates must be suggesting that Narco-trafficking is rampant on the high seas. To my mind, fishermen are being driven away from certain fishing grounds for a few days to facilitate huge drug shipments passing that route. Or, Law Enforcement personnel are lured into surveilling the general area of a recent pirate attack, thus clearing the way for movement of drugs in another geographic area.
Worth some thought?
Thank You.
