At the invitation of His Excellency Desirée Delano Bouterse, President of the Republic of Suriname, His Excellency President Donald Ramotar will pay a Working Visit to the Republic of Suriname on today.
This will be the Head-of-State’s first overseas visit since he took office in December last year.
The two Presidents will discuss a range of issues aimed at further consolidating the relations between Guyana and Suriname.
President Ramotar will be accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Honourable Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Elisabeth Harper, Guyana’s Ambassador to Suriname, Merlin Udho, Ambassador-designate to Suriname, Keith George, Mr. Seelall Persaud, Assistant Commissioner, Law Enforcement and Lieutenant Colonel Omar Khan of the Guyana Defence Force.
