A 23-year-old man, who intervened in a vicious fight between a man and a woman, is now a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), nursing three chop wounds across his face and head.
Manu Blades
Manu Blades was chopped three times by a man (name given) on Saturday last, after he tried to prevent the man from seriously wounding the woman. Blades who works as a gold miner in Port Kaituma, told this publication that the man who chopped him is a “bully” in the area.
The victim explained that the culprit was brutally hitting the woman, during which he pushed her head into a concrete wall. “When I see that, I went and tell him he can’t do that and he didn’t say anything, he just left in a full speed,” Blades stated.
After five minutes, the culprit came with a cutlass and started to “fire” chops at Blades before running away.
Blades was rushed to a hospital in the area and later transferred to the GPHC, where a CT-Scan was done.
Blades told this publication that the police at Port Kaituma are useless. “When something happen they just take reports and do nothing.”
He explained that he made a report at the station but the culprit is still at large.
