Senior citizen gives back to youths in community
A respected senior resident of North East La Penitence is reaching out to two young men

Retired Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Department, Mr. Aubrey Alexander has opened bank accounts for Keiron Noel, 19, of Kiskadee Street, North East La Penitence and Herman Peters also 19, of North East La Penitence.
Both young men attend the Georgetown Technical Institute (GTI).
M. Alexander said that the idea came to him a few months ago after he had read an excerpt in the Daily Word which stated : ‘I commit to being a beneficial presence in my community.’
“In that respect, I identified two youths in my community who, at all times, demonstrated exceptional behavior. I decided, with parental approval, to open bank accounts on December 30.
I also saw a headline in the Kaieteur News : ‘Encouraging Positive Behavior’, and it is my consideration that youths who display exemplary behavior should be encouraged, rewarded and supported, in view of the behaviour we see in the public domain by a number of youths who lack etiquette, social graces and decorum, ” Mr. Alexander added.
Mr. Alexander himself has contributed greatly to the development of Civil Aviation in Guyana. He was featured recently as a ‘Special Person’ in the Kaieteur News.
