Good to read that Banks DIH plans “to introduce several new products”, including soft drinks.
Perhaps mauby syrup may be on the agenda. I recently did some ‘market research’ on mauby and at last found some packaged mauby bark and bottled mauby syrup in an international grocery. The syrup was a product of Barbados.
I made some drink as per directions on the bottle – it was not the same as the drink we were used to in Guyana. It was perfumed and nondescript.
However, my painstaking attempt with the bark was near enough the Guyana cakeshop stuff; but syrup is quicker and more suited to the thirsty in a hurry. Geralda Dennison
