Mahdia businessman shooting…Suspect held, attack reportedly recorded on surveillance camera
Police believe they have made a breakthrough in their investigation into the shooting of Mahdia businessman Roger Hinds.
Kaieteur News understands that they have detained a suspect, and are in possession of footage from a surveillance camera that may assist them in identifying the gunmen.
According to a source, the attack was recorded by a surveillance camera located near a building in which a relative of the victim resides.
However, the quality of the recorded images are said to be of poor quality, and police are attempting to have the images enhanced.
Sources say once the images have been enhanced it is likely the perpetrators will be identified and caught.
On Tuesday night last Hinds and his son were visiting an aunt when two gunmen shot the popular businessman and relieved him of some $5M.
Hinds was sitting in his vehicle while his son went in to see his aunt. As soon and Hinds son exited the vehicle two armed men went up to the vehicle and shot Hinds in the left arm and leg before relieving him of his money.
