A businessman escaped death when a bandit shot him in the left side abdomen before relieving him of his gold chain Monday night at Savage Street, North Ruimveldt.
Felix Alleyne, 37, has a bullet lodged in his spine. The single gunshot has damaged one of his kidneys, which was subsequently removed by the doctors of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he remained, up to late yesterday, a patient of the Male Surgical Ward.
When this publication visited Alleyne at the hospital, he was surrounded by his loved ones. The man who had difficulty speaking, recalled being in the company of a friend at Savage Street, North Ruimveldt, when two men approached them.
Despite the gunmen instructing them not to move, Alleyne said he tried to “move” the gun that was pointed at him.
During the scuffle, the bandit squeezed the trigger and Alleyne was shot. He fell to the ground immediately and the bandit grabbed his gold chain and ran away.
