Boat captain found hanging
A 35-year- old boat captain, Carl Joseph, of the Batavia Community , Lower Cuyuni River, was discovered around 5:00pm yesterday , dangling lifelessly from a tree on the northern side of an island just off the Seventh Avenue beach area in Bartica.
A the time of the discovery Joseph was clad only in his underwear suggesting that he could have swum over to the Island which is about 40 metres away from the beach at low tide.
His corpse displayed blood shot veins on both legs. There were no marks of violence about his other body parts even though rigor mortis had already occurred. The body was attracting flies.
The Bartica Police are currently investigating.
