Monday, November 28th, the day designated for National and Regional Elections, is a public holiday.
The announcement came two days after the last official sitting of the Cabinet.
A release from the Government Information Agency yesterday said that Cabinet made the decision at that time.
“And this came after numerous requests from some private sector agencies and people with a vested interest in the elections.”
Elections Day 2006 was also designated a national holiday. There was a downside. People could not get transportation to visit their polling station. However, the holiday freed up schools to be used as polling places.
