Professional Embalmer: Claude Alfonso Merriman
embalmin capacity.
Claude Alfonso Merriman recently participated in over 100 sessions of embalming and reconstructive training seminar. The seminar is part of the Fountain National Academy’s continuing education, Missouri, USA.
Merriman attended several other training seminars at the Fountain National Academy. They include Embalming Skills, Soft Tissue Injuries, Waxing and Airbrush Cosmetics Seminar, Advanced Post Mortem Reconstructive Surgery Seminar, and Advanced H Post Mortem Reconstructive Surgery Seminar.
These seminars focused on specialized embalming techniques including special surgical techniques. They aimed at advancing the skill level of participants in areas of general and specialized embalming and post-mortem reconstructive surgery techniques on victims of severe traumatic injuries.
Professional embalmers are often required to prepare a body that has severe traumatic injuries and disfiguring facial injuries. Reconstructive techniques are sometimes necessary to achieve an acceptable appearance to enable viewing by family and friends.
Dedicated professional embalmers understand that performance of reconstructive surgery to achieve open casket viewing provides an important and powerful psychological benefit for the grieving family and friends.
World headquarters for Fountain National Academy is based in Springfield, Missouri, USA with representatives in Ireland, Wales and Australia. Founder and instructor Vernie R. Fountain is internationally recognized for his expertise in this field.
