Minibus driver, Kevin Hope, has been granted $200,000 bail after appearing in court for Tuesday’s accident

which left mechanic, Patrice Welcome dead.
Hope, 28, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry after being charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
It was alleged that on November 15th, around 10:30 hours, Hope was travelling east along Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt Gardens, when he sought to overtake another vehicle heading in the same direction.
He collided with Welcome’s motorcycle with the mechanic succumbing from his injuries on spot.
The defendant was taken into custody by the police and later charged with the offense.
Hope, of Lot 12 Lamaha Springs, was represented by Defense Attorney, Omeyana Hamilton, who applied for bail.
