Race car driver Danny Persaud (second right) receives his sponsorship cheque from Banks DIH Brian Choo-Hen on Thursday afternoon.
Danny Persaud speaking with Kaieteur Sport via telephone yesterday exuded confidence ahead of Sunday’s GT&T / Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championship, at the South Dakota Circuit.
Persaud, who was returning from a practice session, said he is confident and expects to reproduce the kind of results that he recorded at the previous Meet despite the influx of foreign drivers from Barbados, Jamaica, USA and Trinidad and Tobago.
The local speedster, who drives an impressive looking Mazda Miata with his sponsor’s logo emblazoned all over the car disclosed he was very encouraged and confident after witnessing the car’s terrific performance. Persaud informed that the car is consistently doing low 36 seconds which according to him is very good for the Group 2B as well as the Group 3.
“I’m looking to register another solid performance, but will have to contend with the likes of Trinidadian Ravi Singh, Kem Lall and Barbadian Andre Waite among others.
Persaud extended thanks to his major sponsors Banks DIH and Buy Me Auto Sales.
