At just seven minutes after ten yesterday morning, one of Mazda Mining Company (MMC) Security workers lost his toe after his gun accidentally “went off” in a store on Regent Street, Georgetown.
The victim, Marlon Meredith, 19, of East Cost Demerara worked as a Patrol Officer at MMC for 5 months.
According to Meredith, he was on duty when the tragic accident occurred. He further noted that he was in a store when he lost coverage of his gun and it went off “accidentally”, he was then rushed at the Georgetown Public Hospital where he received treatment.
