A Devonshire Castle housewife remains in an unconscious state at the Suddie Public Hospital Corporation, two days after she was beaten by her husband.
Danishwar Arjune remains a guest of the state as police are monitoring the condition of his wife, Sarojanie Persaud.
Persaud,39, according to neighbours, sustained severe beatings at the hands of her husband, Arjune, and had to be rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital, moments after police found her lying in an unconscious state at her Devonshire home, on Sunday last.
Neighbours said they overheard Arjune beating his wife’s body and alerted the police who subsequently questioned Arjune and later took him into custody.
Although police said that they saw no marks on Persaud’s body she remains in an unconscious state.
