Organizers to hold referees workshop today
Mackeson Smooth Moves 3-on-3…
Ansa McAl, sponsors of the Mackeson Smooth Moves 3-on-3 basketball tournament, will today be hosting a workshop for the officials of the competition, to update them on the rules and regulations of the event.
The Guyana Official Basketball Council, (GBOC) will be the facilitators of the programme that is geared at walking the officials through the rules of the game in accordance with the sport’s world governing body FIBA.
Apart from Georgetown, Berbice and Linden will all send officials to be part of the training since Ansa McAl is hoping for a trouble free event.
So far, teams have already registered for the event which bounces off October 2 at the Mackenzie Hard Court in Linden.
With six Mackeson crowns along with the list of four players, teams will have a chance to cash in on the tournament’s first prize of a trip to the NBA All-Star Weekend in Orlando, or if not, take advantage of the alternative $1 Million.
Second place will pocket $300,000, third place $100,000 and fourth $50,000. Since the tournament is played country wide, every zone winner will be handsomely rewarded.
