Paul Leo, a man from the North Rupununi, pleaded guilty to the charge of operating a motor tractor without being a valid motor licence holder and for operating the said machine while under the influence of alcohol.
The prosecutor claimed that Leo was operating the vehicle along a hinterland trail that serves as a public thoroughfare to the interior while under the influence of so much alcohol that he was at a state where he could not control the machine.
At the same time the defendant drove the said vehicle without having a licence to operate the machine.
Leo was ordered to pay a fine of $32,500 for the charge of driving under the influence and for not being the holder of a motor licence.
