Dear Editor,
I will be grateful if you publish this letter in response to an article printed in Sunday’s dated 11- Sept-2011 heading “Cooperative have rules” and signed by one Charles Conway. It referred to me.
I would like Mr. Conway to know that indeed, I am not a member of this society and wish not to be a member of any society that preaches and practises race hate.
Let it be known that I have been farming and working and farming with my uncle ‘Mata Persaud’ for the past eight years on my uncle’s three-acre plot. I still work and plant for my uncle on the said plot.
I would also like Conway to know that my uncle is a member of the society, and because of his age and ill heart, he has put measures in place so that his son-in-law, one Mr. Sugrim Indar, and myself can continue farming and look after his affairs on his farm.
If this gentleman feels that I have been trespassing, he must feel free to contact my uncle Mata Persaud.
This must be a move to take away my uncle’s land as in the case of another farmer whose land was taken away. R. Kabool S. Findar
