Prize winners collect hardware
– Persaud, Roshandin voted joint overall champions
Prize winners of the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) July 31 Race Meeting were presented with their hardware, during a simple ceremony which was conducted last Saturday evening, at the club’s Headquarters on Albert Street.

Among those presented with prizes was Stanley Ming Jnr, who was voted the go-kart champion, while Fullworks Roshan Alli copped the Best Driver in the Rookie category.
Other top performers that were declared champions in their respective divisions included Group 2A champion Mohamed Roshandin; Group 2B winner Danny Persaud, who also claimed the top prize in the Group 3 category, while Andrew King maintained his stranglehold in the Group 4 division and Stephen Vieira did likewise in the Superbikes division.
Danny Persaud and Mohamed Roshandin were voted the joint overall champions.
Meanwhile, in a release from the club, September 25 will see the hosting of another round of Drag Racing, at the South Dakota Circuit.
According to the release, drivers and riders from Suriname will be coming to challenge the locals for supremacy.
