Dear Editor,
I happened to be passing the Region Three Administrative Office on September 6 and noticed a picketing exercise by Metro. Clearly, Metro has an issue with the way Region Three is treating them. That is not surprising.
Anyone familiar with the behaviour of many staff in that Region knows that the Office engages in questionable dealings. Some contractors are pretty thick with senior staff while other contractors who do not toe the line have to wait months for payment for work done. The errant contractors do shoddy work but get paid quickly.
The Region has special people with whom it does business and a senior official boasts that he can do as he pleases because he cannot be removed.
So Metro’s plight is understandable. The Auditor General should conduct a surprise audit in the Region. Many will be dismissed afterwards. Private Sector Employee
