The Sans Souci Jaguars Sport Club Cricket Academy is set to get underway on August 29 at the Wakenaam Community Centre Ground and will last for one week.
According to Coach Nandkishore Andrews, the Academy will cater for male and female cricketers at the U-15level. Andrews told Kaieteur Sport that the island has a number of young talented cricketers who will be taught about the basics of the game in every department.
He said that over the years the island has been doing well in the field of cricket producing a number of national cricketers. He made special mention of national U-15 batsman Kemo Paul and U-19 player Ricardo Adams.
Among the topics to be discussed are laws of the game, nutrition and healthy life style and the importance of education. Andrews stated that the Academy is designed to develop rounded individuals. He will be assisted by Coach Zaheer Mohamed.
