Demerara Distillers Limited pools competition to conclude this weekend

The last four preliminary rounds and the finals of the Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) Lemon Brand Vodka Pools Competition for players across Region 6, East Berbice, Corentyne will take place tomorrow with matches being played at Canje, Whim, Nigg, Chesney, with the finals slated for Sunday at Outar’s Bar in Rose Hall Town.
The competition is open to all players across the Region. But, the players must reside in the respective areas where the competition will be played. So far eleven players have qualified for the finals. Namely J. Bahadur, Lawrence Bahadur, A. Bahadur, K. Tageram, D. Pokhai, D. Bye, S. Manahar, Y. Sunil, Z. Nabie, P. Deen and T. Persaud. The Competition got started on July 8, while the winners from each venue will automatically qualify for the finals. All the runners up will have to play in a semi final round where the winner will qualify for the finals which will involve 16 players.
Incentives totaling over $175,000 are up for grabs.
The winner will collect $70,000 plus a trophy, second place $35,000 and third $15,000.
The rules of the Competition are: The players will participate in Straight pools competition. Last ball can be sunk in any pocket and the player (must call pocket).
The winners in the respective preliminary rounds will each receive one hamper which will consist of blue, regular and lemon Vodka, 7up and a juice.
