Dear Editor,
The life jackets in some of the passenger boats plying the Parika-Supenaam route need to be tested. I think many of these life jackets have outlived their time and need to be replaced.
This safety gear is supposed to save your life in case of mishaps or accidents, but I have traveled this route many times and in using these life jackets I wonder how many pounds they can really float taking into consideration the state they are in.
I hereby call on the harbor master to have some level of monthly inspection done on these passenger boats plying not only the routes mentioned above but all the areas of this country where these services exist.
It is worthwhile to investigate these concerns and put corrective measures in place as soon as possible. Andrieko Basir
