tomorrow Jam Zone Masters’ Cup semi-final at Providence with a 10-run win against Young Warriors at the Cumberland ground in Berbice yesterday.
New Line Cavaliers won the toss and made 211-9 in 20 overs with Lyght, the son of former West Indies ‘B’ team opener Andrew Lyght smashing eight fours and 12 sixes while former West Indies under-19 player Gajanand Singh scored 21 from 13 balls.
Bowling for Young Warriors Farouk Hussain took 2-28 and Anil Singh 2-33 Farouk Hussain made 69 from 26 balls with two fours and eight sixes and Kevin Ramdeen, the brother of National opener Richard Ramdeen, made 65 from 45 balls with one four and six sixes as Young Warriors reached 201-8 when their 20 overs expired.
Bowling for New Line Cavaliers, Guyana T20 pacer Paul Wintz took 2-29 Chein Gittens 2-37 and Avinash Sookdeo 2-33.
New Line Cavaliers, which includes Dwayne Smith, Fidel Edwards, Dale Richards, Lindl Simmons and Mahendra Nagamootoo, face the Georgetown Pitbulls in the first semi-final tomorrow from 17:00hrs.
