Kares Engineering / Bushy Park Sawmills 10/10 Tapeball Cricket Competition

Progressive Youth defeated McGill Superstars by two wickets as play in the Kares Engineering / Bushy Park Sawmills 10/10 Tapeball Cricket Competition continued over the weekend at various venues.
Playing in Zone ‘B’, McGill took first strike and posted a challenging 96-5 when the overs expired.
In their turn at the crease, Progressive Youth reached 97-8.
Over in Zone ‘G’, Unity Lancaster beat Chris Auto Sales by three wickets.
Chris Auto Sales made 72-6 batting first with Matthew Shivital picking up 3-14.
In reply, Unity / Lancaster reached 74-3 with Jewan Mangal striking 28.
The tournament is set to resume over the coming weekend with matches scheduled to be staged countrywide.
Fixtures will be released on Thursday in this newspaper.

Meanwhile, the Organisers disclosed that the competition which started on July 9 and is planned to conclude on September 4, at the National Stadium will be followed by a mega concert to be headlined by Grammy winning artiste Jamaican Shaggy along with top Caribbean entertainers chutney king Rikki Jai, Hunter, Peter Ram, Melobugz band out of Trinidad and Tobago and a host of local artistes.
Eight matches are slated to be played with the Boys and Girls finals in the schools categories, semi-finals and finals of the open divisions among those listed.
The winner and runner-up of the Men’s category will receive $1million and $500,000 respectively, while the Ladies segment will see the winner take home $500,000 and loser $300,000, while the Most Valuable Players of the tournament and finals will be awarded scooters.
School winners and losing finalists will be given $400,000 and $200,000 respectively, but that will go to the schools in the form of equipment of their choice.
The MVP’s will be awarded lap tops.
Entertainment will be provided throughout the day in all the stands.
Special prizes will be given out to fans that attend the cricket matches, while they will also enjoy discounts for attending both events.
The price of admission for those wishing to attend both the cricket and concert is $3,000, while those that intend to go to the concert only will have to pay the same price for admission.
VIP tickets will be sold at $5,000 per person and tickets go on sale at strategic locations across the country shortly.
