Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) were defeated by Malteenoes Sports (MSC) in the second semi-final of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Brainstreet Cup 50-over under-15 cricket competition.
MSC batted first and scored 139 for 8 in 29.2 overs after the game was reduced to 30 overs per side due to rain.Rockell Reddy top-scored with 46 from 52 balls and got support from Guyana under-15 leg-spinner Steven Sankar, who made 43 from 28 balls.
Abdool Nazir took 5 for 13 from 3.2 overs for GYO who lost National nder-15 opener Tagenarine ‘Brandon’ Chanderpaul in the first over bowled by Nicolai Reddy with the score on 5 and never recovered and were dismissed for 99.
Dwayne De Barros made 21 and Navendra Seeraj 20 as Sankar returned with the ball to take 3-13 from 4.5 overs.
Richards (2-28) supported for MSC who advanced to the final which is scheduled for Saturday at a venue to be confirmed.
