Natasha Johnson, one of the two seriously injured victims of Monday night’s fire at Plaisance, East Coast Demerara, is still in a critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
Her relatives are contending that there have been no signs of improvement even after the 22-year-old mother of four underwent surgery. She is currently on life support.
Kaieteur News understands that Johnson sustained third degree burns to her entire body while her boyfriend, 19-year-old Delon Gordon, was burnt to his face, hands and abdomen after a loud explosion was heard at the couple’s Plaisance Squatting Area residence.
He is being warded at the Burn Care Unit of the GPHC.
Relatives of Gordon told this newspaper that the young man is said to be in a stable condition.
