Doctors at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation were battling last night to save the lives of two Plaisance residents who were badly burned in a fire that destroyed their home.
Delon Gordon, 19, sustained burns to his face and upper body, while Natasha Johnson, 21, suffered severe burns to most of her body.
A four-month-old boy, identified as Ashley Gordon, escaped unharmed but was also being monitored at the hospital for possible smoke inhalation.
Kaieteur News understands that the blaze started just before 23:00 hrs when a flambeau flared up.
