Dear Editor,
On 17th March, 2011, the PRO of the Georgetown City Council gave reasons for the ineffective drainage of the City.
The road drains between North Road and Regent Street- that is in front of Central Garage and around the Plaisance Bus terminal-are blocked with an easily removable blockage. And so are the drains around the City Hall itself. With the slightest shower, the drains do not function and flood the pavements and the sides of the road.
To remove the blockage will take no more than half-an-hour. Could the media be public-spirited enough to demand that the City Engineer remove this blockage? P. Ramlall
