Man electrocuted after unauthorised connection on pole
A suspected GPL employee might have been carrying out unauthorised work on a utility pole in Second Street, Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara when he got the shock of his life after he touched the wrong wire. He died yesterday.
According to reports, at approximately 17:30 hrs the man who decided to take the risk and climb the utility pole fell to the ground after receiving an electrical shock from the live wire.
After falling, residents in the area carried the man to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
