Dear Editor,
This is a shame on the Government, just think about it, the rains are here and now the chairman decides to hold meetings concerning the roads. When they had the dry season they did noting. What can they do now?
Lethem will once again be locked off from Georgetown. And I wonder who they will put there to fix it, because last year the group that was there could not make it. We in Lethem can still run to the border with Brazil and buy, but not all of us, because the poor ones can’t.
What of those south, those are the ones that are going to punish and those deeper south don’t even mention. What is it really Mr. President? Is it because we are Amerindians? The minister in charge should come and sit on those tractors or go with your fancy vehicles through the road to see what we are going through.
Government asks for our votes and promises us all kinds of things that never materalise. Don’t even talk about Karasabai, those people have to go by boat to our border with Brazil or they will starve. Their little ones cry with hunger, please, we need your attention. Concerned Citizen
