Tiger Bay resident remanded on attempted murder charge

Tiger Bay resident, Adrian Daly, was yesterday remanded to prison for the attempted murder of Police Sergeant, Ransford Liverpool.
Daly was refused bail when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry.
He is to return to court on July 16.
Liverpool was detained on Wednesday in connection with the shooting of sergeant Liverpool during a daring $2M heist at Avenue of the Repubilc last month.
Liverpool, who is seconded to the Office of the President, was shot in the face and abdomen on April 23 while going to the assistance of a cambio dealer’s wife who was being robbed.
According to reports, the victim, Jennifer Mohamed, was walking along Avenue of the Republic to her car when she was confronted by three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
The men, who came up on bicycles, forced Mohamed to hand over a bag containing over $2M and some documents.
Liverpool who was passing on his motor cycle at the time responded, resulting in an exchange of gunfire during which he was shot.
The perpetrators fled with the cash but left two bicycles at the scene.
Liverpool was admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation with gunshot wounds to the face and abdomen. His condition has since improved.
