A taxi driver incurred the wrath of other motorists when he blocked a major thoroughfare with his car just to have a conversation on his cellular phone. He is now a patient at the Georgetown Hospital, nursing a stab wound to his abdomen.
Jesse Knights’ condition is being regarded by doctors at the institution as serious.
The incident took place last Friday around 11:30 hours at James Street, Albouystown.
Knights, 24, of Independence Boulevard, a driver attached to the Green Ice Taxi Service was driving a yellow motor car, which he parked in the centre of James Street and was speaking on his cellular phone, blocking the path of other motorists.
One of those motorists, a male, became angry and engaged him in a heated argument, which resulted in a scuffle.
According to the police, the other man whipped out a knife from his pants waist, dealt Knights a stab to the left side of his abdomen and drove away.
Knights was taken to Georgetown Hospital where he underwent surgery. His assailant has since vanished.
