Dear Editor,
Not too long ago, forces of evil failed when they advocated “mo fyah, slow fyah”. When they advocated burning non-supporters at Babu John, they were largely ignored. Guyanese did respond to the barbaric call.
The Security Forces did not jump on to the bandwagon and support the perpetrators of hate, death and destruction, nor did the Afro Guyanese brothers and sisters. Based on these recent precedents, it can be reasonably assumed that the deranged call for people to take to the streets, if their party/coalition does not win the forthcoming elections, would be again ignored.
It is unfortunate that those who claim to represent the interest of a particular ethnic group deliberately malign the said group, by casting aspersion at the integrity of its members. Why does the ACDA man assume that Afro-Guyanese members of the Security Forces would take to the streets to support his of his group? These are men and women of integrity who are sworn to impartiality. Why does the ACDA man assume that Afro Guyanese are ready to partake in the “riot act?” It’s disgusting that he makes such base assumptions.
It is rather pernicious that the ACDA man is portraying the PPP as a party that represents Indo Guyanese only. He would be well advised to look at the stalwart Afro Guyanese who hold important office in the Government.
Does he believe that the black leaders within the PPP sit with the Indo Guyanese leaders and plot atrocities against Afro Guyanese? Has his hate agenda made him blind?
