Experienced shooter Hemant Narine rolled back the years when he won the latest Guyana NRA Smallbore .22 Precision Pistol competition last Saturday at the Tactical Services Unit (TSU) ranges at Eve Leary.

Competing in the senior category, Narine, who returned to competition after a few years hiatus from the sport, placed first with 188 points at the 10 metres and 15 metres ranges.
In second position was Policewoman Candacy Frank who amassed 182 points in an impressive display.
Third position went to Gordon Richards who just returned from an international competition in Trinidad and Tobago. He recorded 178 points.
Female shooters dominated the Novices competition with Policewoman Edol Castello coming out on top with 190 points at the five and seven metres distances.
Second place went to Vidushi Persaud with 189pts, while Sarah Piggott was third with 184pts.
Officials of the GNRA said that they are extremely happy to see an increase in female participation and this is a very positive development for the sport.
Nineteen shooters participated in the day’s activities organized by the Smallbore section of the Guyana National Rifle Association.
