The Wismar Bus Park was a buzz of activity when intense rivalry in the Banks DIH Guinness Greatest of the Streets Football continued in Linden on Saturday evening.
Like Friday night, the battles were pulsating and the fans present ensured they too kept themselves in the game by cheering on their favorite teams.
In the main event on Saturday, Bad Boys lived through to form by needling Victory Valley Warriors through a Ron Henry goal.
Speightland United got past South Stars 2-1; Jesse Waldron and Clive Allicock were the players on target for the winners, Devon Greene netted the consolation goal for South Stars.
Cherokee Park and Pokerburg battled to a 0-0 stalemate; a similar score line was the result in the Richmond Hill / Fire Storm match-up.
Scheme mauled Wisrock 4-1 in the highest scoring match of the night. Marlon Franklyn, Al Chester, Ryan Crandon and Michael Wills were the goal scorers for Scheme. The lone response for Wisrock was scored by Deshawn Joseph.
Ituni on account of a double from Shawn Cameron defeated Coomacka 2-1, the latter’s response came from Adrian Edmondson.
In the main event on Friday evening at the same venue, Team 25 edged Ripping Bullets in an epic battle by the odd goal in three. Kennard Simon in the 8th minute and Keon Sears in the 18th combined for the winnings strikes; Ripping Bullets got their consolation from Shawn Seaforth19th minute.
Retrieve Unknowns blanked Sheriff Squad 2-0; Dannel George opening the scoring three minutes in to the game with the sealer coming via Lindon Simon in the 18th.
Hi-Stars flew to a 3-0 triumph over Street Vybze; Colin Davidson (8), James Trotman (10) and Tony ‘Spirit’ Adams (15) were the players on target for Hi-Stars.
Half Mile/One Mile held a clean sheet against Scheme defeating them 2-0. Charles Harvey netted both goals in the 10th and 15th minute.
Attackers and Hardknocks drew 1-1, Reon Venture and Wayne Milo were the players on target for the respective teams. Also drawing with a similar scoreline was Goal Getters (Renno Subner) and Wisroc (Orande Wills). Play continued last evening at the Amelia’s Ward Hard Court.
Meanwhile, more play is set for Wednesday at the Sliver City Hard Court from 18:00hrs. Trainline Warriors oppose Hard Watts; Fire Storm engage Ituni; Coomacka takes on Richmond Hill; Hi-Stars play Silver Bullets; Street Vibes tackle Star Boys while Ripping Bullets match skills with Sheriff Squad.
