FAPTC 25B are football champs
The Central Police station Inter Service and Community Outreach programme is continuing with a number of games and other activities. The final of the 5-a-side football competition was played recently at the Central Police Station Recreation Centre Playfield.
The championships game was contested between teams from ‘B’ Division of the Felix Austin Police Training College; 25B contingent got the better of their 24B colleagues 3-0.

Scoring for the 25B contingent were Recruits Mark Grimond, Shannon Aaron and Leroy English. The 25B team was lead by Commandant of the Training School, Superintendent Ian Amsterdam while the 24B team was lead by Sergeant Michael Newland.
Presenting the winning trophy was coordinator of the programme Sergeant Jairam Ramlakhan of the Central Police Station. According to Ramlakhan other games will also be played and they hope to make the activities a year-long affair.
Officer Commanding Number One Division, Assistant Superintendent Rishi Dass told the gathering that the games and other activities are all part of the Forces way in doing things differently.
He stated that activities of such nature help to keep youths out of trouble and actively involved in constructive activities and the Police Force is prepared to play its part.
The Central Police Operational Outreach Programme and Youth Club is looking forward to an excellent 2011. So far, a Twenty20 cricket competition has been completed and was won by the Guyana Fire Service with victory over the Central Police Station Youth Club. Other games on the way are Dominoes, Whist and a Singles Table Tennis tournament.
