Seventeen-year-old Jonathan Soodoo of 26 Hill Street, Albouystown, now a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation was reportedly shot in his lower abdomen some time after 9:00pm on Monday night.
According to the victim, every afternoon he would normally hang out with his peers at the street corner in his neighbourhood. “We does jus lime and mek we lil jokes and suh; nothing much. Sometimes we talk till midnight,” said the wounded boy.
Soodoo said that on Monday he was hanging with his friends on Hill Street, not too far from his residence. He added that as time went by few of his friends went home. He eventually was among the last to leave for home.
The victim said on his way home a short boy of African descent approached him and demanded his possession.
Soodoo said that he refused to give the boy what he had. Subsequently, his assailant went to his waist and withdrew a gun and shot him.
